What is The Couch?

The Couch is a technology startup passionate about solving the problems in tele-psychiatry. We aim to provide the world’s most trusted tele-psychiatry solutions by intelligently connecting patients with providers to achieve exceptional medical outcomes – delivering a safe and personalized experience in every interaction.

Our platform will transform psychiatric care by enabling psychiatrists to deliver quality care by making it simple for providers to start, manage, and grow their private practice and for patients to receive the type of care they need, when and how they need it.

How does The Couch work?

At this time, we are only providing tele-health care to existing patients. We look to soon provide services to new patients. Feel free to sign up on our patient waitlist and get updated when The Couch is available.

What conditions does The Couch treat?

The Couch is an out-patient psychiatry tele-health platform. We are willing to do initial assessments with all new patients, but if there are conditions that we don’t feel are appropriate for our platform we refer those patients to proper specialists to provide them with the care they need. We do not treat patients that are acutely suicidal.

Does The Couch treat patients of all ages?

The Couch can treat children above the age of 3 and adults up to 75 years old.

Do you provide in-person care?

No. We do not provide in person care.

Do you provide therapy?

Yes. We provide therapy during the medication management session, however, we are largely focused on treatment techniques rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy.

Do you charge a fee for cancellations?

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Anything inside 24 hours there is a cancellation fee.

What happens if I want to take a break from treatment?

Your doctor will work with you for a safe and appropriate program for pausing your treatment. We certainly believe that it’s important to step away from treatment at certain times, but they need to be planned carefully.

What if my situation is an emergency?

We understand how difficult this can be. If you have an urgent need to be seen, we'll prioritize your case and help get the care you need as soon as possible. Under ideal circumstances, get patients with emergencies seen the next day.

Does The Couch pair 100% of patients that sign up?

Every person's mental health journey is unique and requires specialized treatment. We strive to give our patients high-quality care tailored for their individual needs. If for some reason we are unable to pair a patient our team will make every effort to quickly connect them with the help they need elsewhere.

Am I able to try out The Couch before making a commitment?

If you are currently working for a public organization you can choose to try the platform and be in private practice for one day per week without leaving your job. From there, if you are enjoying the platform you can increase the number of days as you see fit.

In what countries are The Couch and The Couch available?

At this time our platform is exclusive to the United States. Sign up for product updates and we’ll notify you when our service is available in your country.
